How Do Health Funds Work?
There are no stand-alone dental insurance plans in Australia. However, you may get Extras Cover (specialized coverage) as an add-on to your regular policy. Dental services covered by this plan include all general dentistry and major dental procedures such as endodontic and orthodontic treatments.
General dental procedures include preventative dental treatments such as oral examinations, scaling and cleaning, dental fillings, x-rays, tooth removals, and mouthguards. On the other hand, major dental procedures include more complicated treatments such as endodontic and orthodontic treatments.
